2024 Week 9 Term 1
A Prayer for Easter Sunday
Lord, the resurrection of Your Son has given us new life and renewed hope.
Help us to live as new people in pursuit of the Christian ideal.
Grant us wisdom to know what we must do, the will to want to do it, the courage to undertake it,
the perseverance to continue to do it, and the strength to complete it.
Amen
Happy Easter
Wishing all our families a happy and Holy Easter as we celebrate the joy of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, the foundation of our Christian faith.
I hope your Easter Celebration this weekend will provide an opportunity for your family to relax and enjoy one another’s company as we remember the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
Sometimes Easter can be a very busy time in our lives with visiting friends, making special meals and travelling to different places for a holiday break, not to mention the ‘chocolate!’ Taking time and ‘calling to mind’ the Death and Resurrection of Jesus is central to our Catholic faith.
Just as Jesus showed compassion to the outcasts of society and to those who suffered oppression and discrimination, it is also relevant for each of us to consider how we can meet these same challenges that we face in our daily lives. Do I alienate others? How do I relate to others? Am I forgiving? Do I exclude others? Do I show compassion and kindness to others? Am I the best person Jesus wants me to be?
On behalf of all the staff at St Joseph's School, I wish you and your family a very happy and blessed Easter.
