2024 Week 7 Term 2
Staffing Update
I am excited to announce some important updates to our Leadership Team for the remainder of the Term 3. I have stepped into the role of Acting Principal. I remain committed to continuing the excellent work of our school community.
Joining Ms Sonia Solares and I in the Executive Leadership Team will be Miss Sophie Anderson, who will undertake the role of Assistant Principal. Sophie brings a wealth of experience and a deep dedication to our students' success.
Additionally, Mrs Brooke Saville will be stepping into the role of Leader of Learning. Brooke's expertise and innovative approach to education will be instrumental in enhancing our Religious Education Curriculum.
We are enthusiastic about the opportunities ahead and look forward to working together to ensure a positive and productive finish to the Term.
Babys News
We are delighted to share some wonderful news from our school community!
Firstly, congratulations to Mrs Danielle Mackay and her husband Andrew on the birth of their beautiful daughter, Layla Jay. A beautiful baby sister for Charlotte. Layla was welcomed into the world with much joy and love on Wednesday this week. We extend our warmest wishes to the Mackay family as they begin this exciting new chapter.
Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that Ms Samantha Ryder and her partner Mitch are expecting a baby later this year. We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their little one and wish them all the best during this special time.
We are incredibly happy for both families and look forward to celebrating these joyous milestones with our school community.
School Uniform
We regret to inform you that our school has run out of our supply of track pants, and our suppliers are currently unable to fulfill our order. We understand the importance of keeping our students warm during the colder months, and we have implemented a temporary solution for the winter of 2024.
For this year only, girls are permitted to wear navy tights under their shorts as an alternative to track pants. Please note that this is a one-time exception due to our current stock situation. Next winter, the navy tights will not be allowed, and the standard uniform policy will resume.
We understand that tights come in various materials and shades of navy. We ask that parents ensure the tights are as close to the standard uniform as possible.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this temporary challenge. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school Office on 658 1745.

I would like to extend my sincerest apologies for the delay in addressing this important matter. The recent "Tell Them From Me" survey highlighted our oversight in not recognising our outgoing P & F Committee and welcoming the new committee for 2024.
Firstly, a massive thank you to our outgoing P & F role-bearers. Their outstanding service and commitment during their tenure on the P & F Committee have made a significant contribution to the growth and success of St Joseph's School. Our next P & F meeting will be held next Thursday 20 June 2024 at 6.00 pm in the Staffroom. We are excited to announce that a special guest from the Lismore Catholic Schools Office will be speaking to the P & F about future endeavours. We will have the air conditioning on "heat"!
We encourage all parents to attend and support our new committee as they embark on this journey to further enhance our school community.
Booking Appointments with Teachers
To facilitate effective communication, we kindly ask that you make an appointment in advance if you need to discuss any matters with your child's teacher. This will help ensure that our teachers can give you their full attention and address your concerns more effectively. If there is a concern that you require your child's teacher to be aware of that morning and you don't have an appointment, please get in touch with the front Office 6585 1745, and a message will be passed on. If you need to let your teacher know something between requiring action on that day, please contact the front Office, as teachers do not always have the chance to read emails.
SEMESTER ONE REPORTS
Semester One reports will be available for viewing at the end of this semester. Reports will reflect a new format in line with the recent curriculum updates in Mathematics and English for Kinderarten - Year 6. This change ensures alignment with the latest educational standards, research, and Diocesan consistency.
Please note that reports will be accessible via the Compass App from Friday 28 June 2024, after 3pm. If you are viewing via the Compass App, you will find the reports under the REPORT tab on your child's dashboard. On the web browser, reports can be found on the dashboard in a link entitled 'VIEW ACADEMIC REPORTS' under your child's photo.
Please pay attention to your School Fees. Term 1 fees are overdue and Term 2 fees are due by the end of Term. Our school cannot function without the income fees generate. The Catholic School's Office is currently working through the funds outstanding by families enrolled in our school. Monthly statements are forwarded to your email address and show a family reference and BPay number.
If you have an active payment plan please continue to keep regular payment up-to-date.
