Dibels
Students have enthusiastically returned from the holidays ready for a new Term of learning. To begin the Term, teachers have been conducting DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) assessments with students from Kindergarten to Year 6. These assessments monitor academic growth in spelling and reading throughout the school year.
These DIBELS assessments provide valuable data on students’ progress, helping teachers identify strengths and areas for improvement. By tracking performance over time, teachers can measure individual student growth and determine whether instructional strategies are effective. Additionally, the results allow staff to follow student development from one year to the next, creating a clearer picture of long-term learning progress. This information plays a key role in informing teaching decisions, targeted interventions, and support strategies to enhance student success.
