NAIDOC DAY

National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee

Next Friday 19 September 2025, our students will participate in NAIDOC activities to celebrate Indigenous culture. Students are able to wear out-of-uniform (appropriate) clothing featuring Indigenous colors or designs on that day.  Clothing must be sun-safe (no singlets or thin straps) and all students must wear joggers and  school hats. This is required for safety and comfort.

STRONG SPIRIT

'Strong Spirit' Port Macquarie recently partnered with our Kindergarten - Year 2 students, Year 4 helpers and Aunty Miranda, for a vibrant workshop on designing and painting emu eggs.

Throughout the session, students enthusiastically learned to say their names and some words in Gathang (Birpai) language, deepening their cultural connection. The workshop was an engaging, hands-on experience which celebrated creativity and Indigenous heritage, with students fully immersed and inspired. Strong Spirit’s commitment to fostering cultural understanding through art truly shone through.

We look forward to welcoming our Year 3 - Year 6 students next Wednesday to continue this meaningful journey of learning and respect.
